About Memori

What is this?

Memori is a free, open-access brain training app that runs entirely in your browser. No account, no install, no subscription. Four short games, each targeting a different cognitive layer: working memory, pattern recognition, digit span, and verbal recall.

The idea was simple: daily training should take under ten minutes and have zero friction. You open the page, you train, you close it. Your scores save locally in your browser and carry over to your next visit.

The four games

  • Memory Match — a 4×4 grid of face-down cards. Flip two at a time to find pairs. Fewer moves earns a higher bonus. Trains working memory and spatial recall.
  • Sequence Memory — a 3×3 grid of tiles lights up in a growing pattern. Watch it, then tap it back in the same order. One wrong tap ends the round. Trains attention and sequential recall.
  • Number Memory — a number appears on screen, then disappears after a few seconds. Type it back exactly. Each correct answer adds one more digit. Trains short-term digit span.
  • Word Recall — eight words are shown briefly, then hidden. A larger set of words appears and you pick out only the ones you saw. Three rounds per session. Trains verbal working memory.

Scoring

Each game produces a raw score based on accuracy and efficiency. XP is calculated on top of that and credited to your overall level. The cognitive skill bars on the Progress page shift with every completed session, so progress shows in actual numbers.

Best scores are saved per game in your browser's local storage. They persist until you clear your browser data.

Who built it?

Memori is an independent side project by Synterlab, a small independent lab building focused tools for the web. It started as an internal experiment and grew into something worth sharing.

Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2025

Short version: Memori does not collect any personal data on its own servers. Your game data stays in your browser.

What we do not collect

  • Names, email addresses, or any account information
  • Game scores or session history
  • IP addresses or device fingerprints
  • Location data of any kind
  • Cookies set by Memori itself

What lives in your browser

Memori uses localStorage to remember your best scores and XP between visits. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can delete it by clearing your browser's site data for memorilab.fun.

Third-party services

Google Fonts — the page loads two typefaces from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log your IP and browser as part of serving those files. See Google's privacy policy.

Vercel — the site is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel logs standard server access data (IP, request time, browser type) for infrastructure and abuse prevention purposes. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Orynth — the badge on the More page loads an image from orynth.dev. That request may be logged by Orynth's servers.

Children

Memori contains no advertising and requires no personal information to use. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

Cookie Policy

Last updated June 2025

Memori does not set any cookies itself. Score data is stored via localStorage, not cookies.

Our use of localStorage

Instead of cookies, Memori uses the browser's localStorage API to save your best scores and XP. Unlike cookies, localStorage data is never sent to a server — it stays entirely on your device. You can remove it at any time from your browser's site settings or developer tools under Application → Local Storage → memorilab.fun.

Third-party cookies

Some external resources included on this site may set cookies outside our control:

  • Google Fonts — font files served by Google may trigger Google cookies. See Google's cookie policy.
  • Vercel — the hosting infrastructure may set operational cookies for routing or security. See Vercel's policy.
  • Orynth — loading the badge image from orynth.dev may result in a cookie being set by that domain.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete all cookies through your browser's privacy settings. Doing so will not affect any Memori functionality, since the app relies on localStorage rather than cookies for its own data.
